Secretary Vince Dizon Urges DPWH Employees to Help Clean Up the Agency

In his inaugural flag-raising ceremony as the Secretary of Public Works and Highways, Vince Dizon delivered a stirring appeal to department employees to join him in restoring integrity to the agency amid mounting corruption concerns.
Having assumed office on September 1 on an ad interim basis, Dizon emphasized that while there are individuals within the DPWH involved in irregularities, the majority of its workforce remains dedicated, honest, and hardworking.
“Help me. Let’s help the President. We have seen that there are indeed bad people here. Help me get rid of them,” he urged his staff.
In a powerful refrain, he said: “Let us not allow a few bad eggs to destroy this entire institution and to destroy the country.”
“I believe that the vast majority of you are good, honest, hardworking, and loyal government workers of this country… we have to save DPWH,” he declared, reinforcing confidence in the workforce.
Secretary Dizon’s address aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s broader directive: a comprehensive reform of the DPWH, aimed at wiping out corruption, ending ghost projects, and ensuring that government spending genuinely serves the people.
In support of these efforts, Dizon has initiated a courtesy resignation order for DPWH officials across all levels—part of a “clean sweep” campaign to restore public credibility and accountability within the agency.
Secretary Dizon’s impassioned plea marks a critical moment for the DPWH—a call for collective responsibility, transparency, and reform. By framing the battle against corruption as a shared mission, he invited both officials and rank-and-file employees to participate actively in safeguarding the agency’s integrity and, by extension, public trust in government.
