Although born and bred in the city of Delfin Albano, Isabela, Engr. Edmon had a humble beginning despite having the will to go up. By virtue of the Working Scholars Program of University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT), he got the opportunity to take his studies. In school, his days consisted of going to classes and doing his study, while his evenings were spent cleaning classroom floors.
This time, which was spent unseen by other people, shaped who he is today. This is where he cultivated the habit of being disciplined, patient, and hardworking. Even before he became an engineer, he had developed the attitude needed for success in life.
Finding Purpose in Engineering: A Commitment to Community Service
As he pursued his studies and got his license in Civil Engineering, Engineer Edmon’s career path soon emerged clearly. From participating in community-related projects while studying in school, he developed a passion for serving people, specifically in aspects that involved sanitation and water systems.
His experience of knowing how engineering can help transform people’s lives helped him make sound decisions in choosing where to go in his career. Engineering did not only become a field of study for him but also a means through which he could pay his debt of gratitude to his fellow citizens.
Engineering Impact Beyond Borders: Transforming Communities Through Infrastructure
His journey eventually brought him to American Samoa, where he served as Engineer II at the American Samoa Power Authority (ASPA). There, he led several large-scale infrastructure projects that created lasting impact.
Some of his remarkable works include the Eastside Villages Wastewater Collection System, amounting to $13.3 million, finished on time while saving on costs, and the Fagaima Water Filtration and Treatment Plant, which was instrumental in putting an end to the boil water problem experienced by most residents.
Leadership and Excellence: Building a Career on Expertise and Integrity
At present, Engr. Edmon is employed as a Senior Project Manager in the LBJ Tropical Medical Center in American Samoa. Through this job, he continues to spearhead the important infrastructure projects that benefit healthcare delivery and community development.
In terms of his professional qualifications, his background shows that he is highly skilled in his field. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Six Sigma Black Belt (CSBB). Also, he holds a license as a Professional Engineer in Nevada. On top of that, he is accredited by various organizations across the globe.
